Nigeria head coach Gernot Rohr is in Germany to monitor his players as commencement the 2018 World Cup in Russia draws closer.
Rohr is expected to also convince some players of Nigerian descent to switch allegiance to Nigeria.
Media officer of the team Toyin Ibitoye revealed this on Tuesday, adding that the coach wants to get the best for the country ahead of the competition.
“Rohr is in Germany now monitoring players that could make his team for the upcoming international friendly matches that will help him get the best for the World Cup,” Ibitoye told Complete Sports.
“He is determined to present a quality team in Russia and he has started monitoring the players he wants to give the opportunities to prove what they can do for Nigeria.”
Nigeria will play in Group D with Argentina, Iceland and Croatia in the global soccer showpiece billed for June.
