The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has revealed that the Nigerian economy attracted an investment of $16.81bn in 2018.
This was according to the NBS Capital Importation report for 2018 where it noted that the figure represents an increase of $4.59bn or 37.49 percent when compared to the $12.22bn in 2017.
It noted that the largest amount of capital importation was gotten through portfolio investment, which accounted for $11.8bn or 70.20 percent of total investment inflow.
This is followed by Other Investment, which amounted to $3.81bn or 22.69 percent of total capital.
Also, Foreign Direct Investment had $1.19bn or 7.11 percent of total capital imported in 2018.
