Outgoing Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has revealed that players should take responsibility for their problems and spare the former manager Jose Mourinho.

Concise News reports that the 29–year-old, who is set to play for Paris Saint-Germain, has disclosed that it will be “tough” for United to return to the top.

But he insisted that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is the best option to return the lost glory to Old Trafford.

United were embarrassed on Sunday by losing 2-0 to relegated Cardiff City.

Hererra, who was excluded from the squad that lost to Cardiff, said those on the pitch should be held to account.

“We have to take responsibility, all of us,” Herrera told SportsMail.

“It’s not fair to blame others. When you have a bad season, 75 per cent is the responsibility of the players.

“It’s very easy when a manager is sacked to blame someone else but it is the fault of every one of us.

“Every player in the dressing room has a responsibility for what has happened this season. We have done bad things.”
