The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) in Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) has issued a 10-day ultimatum to the management of the school to pay their salaries or face industrial action.
Concise News learned that lecturers are being owed August, September and October salaries.
The union, it was learned, said it might resort to strike at the expiration of the ultimatum should the university fail to pay.
According to a congress resolution jointly signed by the Chairman, Dr. Biodun Olaniran, and Secretary, Dr. Toyin Abegunrin, the union also threatened to withhold the Rain Semester results of 2018/2019 academic session until the salaries are paid.
It was learned that the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Michael Ologunde, had attributed non-payment of salaries to non-release of subvention to it by the governments of Oyo and Osun – the owners of the institution.
