President of South Africa’s TS Galaxy FC, Tim Sukazi, celebrated with Nigerian champions Enyimba who knocked out his team from this year’s CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday.
Concise News reports that the Peoples Elephant humbled the South African side 2-1 at the Mbombela Stadium to record a 4-1 aggregate win as they had spanked Galaxy 2-0 in the first leg of their playoff.
TS Galaxy, surprise winners of South Africa’s 2018/2019 Nedbank Cup, had enjoyed a good record at home in the Confederation Cup this season, having registered two wins without conceding against St Louis Suns and CNaPS Sport.
Enyimba got the opening goal in the 76th minute through Daniel Darkwah, while Martins Usule made it 2-0.
But Galaxy pulled a goal back towards the end through Terrence Mashego.
After the match, the Nigerian side posted pictures of their celebration with Sukazi.
“We might have won and qualified, but in the end, it was victory for African football,” Enyimba tweeted on their verified handle.
