Afro-fusion star, Damini Ogulu better known as ‘Burna Boy has earned another feat by winning the Best African Act category at the 2019 MTV EMAs.
Burna Boy beats the likes of Teni, Prince Kaybee (South Africa), TooFan (Togo), Nasty C (South Africa) and Harmonize (Tanzania) in the award which held in Seville, Spain on Sunday.
Concise News reports that this is the second international award the self-proclaimed African Giant clinched this year.
However, Burna Boy did not grace the MTV EMA as he held a concert at SSE Arena in Wembley, London.
With Burna Boy winning the award, Nigerian musicians have now clinched it the fourth time in a row. Wizkid won it in 2016, Davido 2017, Tiwa Savage in 2018.
Meanwhile, the singer also bagged the Best International Act at the BET 2019 awards ahead of his Teni Makanaki.
Accepting the Award on his behalf, mother, also his manager, Bose Ogulu, expressed her excitement at his achievement.
In her message delivery, while accepting the honour for “Best International Act” at the BET Awards, she appreciated the organisers of the award as well as those who supported the award-winning singer in getting another one.
Ogulu who has accepted trophies for the “ye” crooner in the past also came with a quick word for African-Americans.
