A former Aviation Minister Osita Chidoka has told his younger brother Obinna that he (Obinna) will be held accountable as a member of the House of Representatives.
Chidoka’s brother, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in 2019 election for Idemili North and South federal constituency had lost to Ifeanyi Ibezi of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
However, ruling by the Court of Appeal on Friday, declared Chidoka as the winner and ordered Ibezi to vacate the seat for him.
While reacting to the development, Osita Chidoka wished his brother well, saying he will hold him accountable to his promises during the campaign for the poll.
“To Hon. Obinna Chidoka, you promised to do more in representing Idemili, we will hold you accountable to that promise,” the former Minister said.
“I called Hon. Ifeanyi Ibezim, to reach out to him and wish him well. It is Politics. It is not personal. I wished him well and hope to engage him further on the need for peaceful elections.”
He added that “Elections are over, court process over, time to heal.
“To all our friends and supporters, it is not time to gloat. It is time to heal. I have forgiven anybody who one way or the other wronged me in the course of that election and also ask that they forgive me too for my own transgressions if any.
“To the family of the young men that lost their lives during the elections, we will continue to support the dependents.”
