Months after American star, Beyonce and star boy Wizkid shook the entertainment world with release of ‘Brown Skin Girl’ audio, they have commenced filming of the video.
The US superstar chose to shoot ‘Brown Skin Girl’ video at several locations in Catford and Thamesmead, with members of her team spotted near the local prison HM Prison Thameside on Thursday.
Beyoncé’s casting team called for ‘black and brown people of different cultures, nationalities, ethnicities, genders and ages’ all with backgrounds in London to step forward.
Nigeria’s Jenn Nkiru, born in Peckham, is directing the video after previously working with Beyoncé and rapper husband Jay-Z on their hit Apes**t.
‘Brown Skin Girl’ is a track off Beyonce’s Lion King album released on Friday, July 19.
Fans have been in awe of the song which also features her daughter, Blue Ivy and Guyanese rapper SAINt JHN.
The song marked Beyoncé’s second collaboration with daughter.
‘Brown Skin Girl’ trended across all social media platforms since the release, with many hailing Wizkid for his rendition.
Meanwhile, the song bagged two nominations from the Soul Train Awards.
It was nominated in two categories of the awards.
The song was nominated for awards in the ‘THE ASHFORD as well as SIMPSON SONGWRITER’S AWARD’ and ‘BEST COLLABORATION’ categories.
The 2019 edition of Soul Train Awards would hold on November 17 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.
