As Lille prepare to take on Olympique de Marseille tomorrow in the Ligue 1, manager Christophe Galtier has passed Super Eagles of Nigeria star, Victor Osimhen fit for the big clash.
Concise News reports that Osimhen, Lille’s top goalscorer this season pulled up injured in the 3-0 win over Girondins de Bordeaux last Saturday.
The 20-year-old- who has plundered a Ligue 1 second-best seven goals this term – complained of a groin pain last week but elected to play for Les Dogues in their clash at home to Bordeaux.
However, with less than an hour gone at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, Osimhen pulled up injured, to be replaced by Loïc Remy, who went on to add the final goal in injury time.
Galtier’s initial reaction did hint at an extended period on the sidelines for the Nigerian.
But now, that seem to have changed.
“Victor [Osimhen] is up and running, and has been running all week,” he said during Thursday’s press conference.
Only AS Monaco attacker Wissam Ben Yedder, with nine, has scored more goals in the league than Osimhen this season.
The Ultimate Strikers Academy of Lagos product have hit the ground running following his summer arrival from Belgian outfit R. Charleroi SC.
Lille are third on the log with 18 points, two points above this weekend’s opponent, Marseille and nine behind league-leaders Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
