Watford youngster Tom Dele-Bashiru and midfielder Kelechi Nwakali will lead the Nigerian U-23 team for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.

The coach of the Olympic Eagles lmama Amapakabo released the squad for the U-23 AFCON on Thursday.

Dele-Bashiru played for the Flying Eagles, at the FIFA U-20 World Cup finals in Poland last summer.

Also included in the squad are 2016 Olympic gold medalist Azubuike Okechukwu, Anthony Izuchukwu and Taiwo Awoniyi among others.

Nwakali led Nigeria to the U-17 World Cup glory in Chile four years ago and helped the squad secured a berth at the finals in Egypt.

The Nigerian side are in Group B with Cote d’Ivoire, Zambia and South Africa for the competition which serves as the qualifiers for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Concise News understands that the U-23 AFCON will run from 8th – 22nd November in Cairo, with Nigeria already departed for Egypt, Thursday.
