Igbo Presidency 2023: Top IPOB Apologist Bares Thoughts
Barrister Aloy Ejimakor (Ejimakor/Facebook)

As the talks for a Igbo presidency continues, a Counsel to the leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, Barrister Aloy Ejimakor has pointed out that there exists a regional imbalance in Nigeria.

The legal practitioner therefore calls on Ndigbo to address the issue first, else a president from the south-central and southeastern Nigeria “will be impotent”.

He made this assertion on his known Twitter handle on Tuesday.

The tweet reads: “The quest for #IgboPresidency2023 is diversionary. The allure of ‘power shift’ has blinded Igbo elites to the regional IMBALANCE that must be addressed FIRST. Without such, an Igbo President will be IMPOTENT. Jonathan was not WEAK. It’s the imbalance that made him look weak.”

Meanwhile, Ejimakor has also reacted to the reported restriction of IPOB members who were meeting in Ebonyi state.

It would be recalled that Kanu on Sunday raised a fresh allegation against Nigerian security operatives, claiming a combined team invaded the venue of the banned IPOB gathering in Ebonyi state and shot at them.

Although he did not mention any death figure or when the said incident happened, the controversial activist claimed ‘many are seriously injured with some in critical condition’.

He did support his claim with video ‘evidence’.

Kanu’s counsel, Ejimakor vowed to take up the matter.
