Kogi Guber: Osinbajo, Oshiomhole Inaugurate Bello’s Campaign Team

The campaign for the reelection bid of Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has been inaugurated by vice-president Yemi Osinbajo and National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole.

While presenting the APC flag to Yahaya Bello, the vice president assured the people of Kogi that the governor has passion for the sustainable development of the state.

Kogi Guber Poll: PDP Issues Yahaya Bello Red Card In Lokoja

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said the crowd that attended its official flag-off of its governorship campaign in Lokoja, Kogi state capital on Friday, is a red card issued by the people to Governor Yahaya Bello.

The party in a statement signed its spokesman, Kola Ologbondiya, on Sunday added that the crowd means that Kogi remains a home to the PDP, which will further manifest in PDP’s landslide victory at the November 16 election.

The statement read: “The party notes that the earthshaking jubilation and ovation that greeted the PDP candidate, Engr. Musa Wada and his running mate, Hon Sam Aro, established the people’s confidence and preference for the PDP and its candidate, over and above Yahaya Bello, who has failed them on all fronts.” Read more here.

Kogi: 228 Inmates Escape As Custodial Centre Collapses

No fewer than 228 inmates have escaped from the Koton Karfe custodial centre in Kogi as heavy floods destroys the perimetre fence and the walls of two cells.

Confirming the incident, the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Correctional Service, Jafar Ahmed, on Monday said that the flood came at about 3a.m, submerging the perimetre fence and the walls of the cells.

According to Ahmed, there were 228 inmates at the centre as at the time of the incident. Read more here.
