The Nigerian squad led by coach Manu Garba will play their first two fixtures at the 2019 U-17 World Cup in Goiania.

However, the West Africans who were last winners of the FIFA U-17 World Cup in 2015, take on Australia in their last Group B fixture in Brasilia.

While speaking ahead of Nigeria’s opening fixture at the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup, Manu said his squad is out there to emerge as winners of the competition in Brazil.

“Everyone should get ready to see a fantastic Nigerian team that play great football and have the trophy in their sights,” Garba told FIFA.com.

“Ecuador, Hungary and Australia are undoubtedly strong teams that we respect, but we are record-breaking world champions and I was involved in two of our title wins.”

He added that “The will to win every game is part of the DNA of every Nigerian team, and my team here in Brazil is no exception.”
