And Amuneke who is a former Nigerian international has called on Rohr to use the same side that played in the games for the clash against the Benin Republic on November 11.

According to the former Tanzania coach, Nigeria will beat the Benin Republic if the same team which featured against the two sides is maintained.

“I am really pleased with the current set of players that played against Ukraine and Brazil in the international friendly games,” he told Soccer Net

“It goes to show that we have many quality players that are determined and hungry to represent the senior national if given the opportunity.

“At least, the game against Brazil should have given the technical adviser, Gernot Rohr an idea of the players that should face Benin in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

“Holding their own against one of the best teams in the world shows that we are doing something right.”

He added that “It doesn’t matter whether it’s a friendly encounter because what matters most is the performance and outcome of the game.

“Rohr should continue with the blend of players that featured in the two international friendly games if the team must get something positive against Benin.”

After the clash against the Benin Republic, Nigeria will play Lesotho in Maseru on November 19 in another AFCON qualifier.

Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side Kano Pillars say they have received a positive report from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) as regards the payment of their 2019 Aiteo Cup win entitlement.

According to the Media Officer to the club, Rilwanu Idris Malikawa, the information reaching the Nigerian giants indicates that the nation’s football governing body would release the said money to the Sai Masu Gida soon.

Aiteo Cup Update

Malikawa further explained that from the recent information the club got, delay in the payment of the prize money was not intentional but due to some issues beyond the Federation’s control.

“With this, we are commending the Aiteo Group for sponsoring the competition and hope they will not relent on their efforts in moving football forward in the country,” Malikawa said.
