1. Fatima Daura: Aisha Buhari Apologises Over Leaked Video

Aisha, wife of President Muhammadu Buhari, has apologised to her children, immediate family members, and Nigerians over the embarrassment a viral video circulating on social media had caused. Concise News had reported that the First Lady was seen in an angry mood with the Mamman Daura’s daughter, Fatima, over their alleged refusal to pack out of the Glass House in the villa. Mrs Buhari tendered the apology while receiving First Ladies from states on a solidarity visit to the Presidential Villa. She, however, expressed her desire to reinvigorate the African First Ladies Peace Mission to foster peace and sustainable development of women and children.

2. President Buhari Signs Five Bills Into Law

Five bills passed by the 8th National Assembly has been signed into law by President Muhammadu Buhari. Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters (House of Representatives), Umar Yakubu, made the announcement at a news conference on Wednesday in Abuja. He listed the bills as the Obafemi Awolowo University Transitional Amendment Act, Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi Amendment Act, the University of Maiduguri Amendment Act, the National Fertiliser Quality Control Act, and the Nigerian Council of Food Science and Technology Establishment Act.

3. Another Nigerian Killed In South Africa

A member of the Nigerian community in South Africa Ikenna Innocent Otugo has been killed, Concise News has gathered. Acting Chairman of the Nigerian Union, South Africa (NUSA), in the Kwazulu Natal Province, Sylvester Okonkwo, said on Wednesday that the deceased was killed at Empangeni on Tuesday, October 15. It was learned that Otugo, 41, a native of Nimo, Njikoka area of Anambra state, was allegedly stabbed to death by unknown assailants over a business disagreement.

4. High Cost Of Governance: Buhari Govt Takes Action

The President Muhammadu Buhari administration says it has asked the revenue mobilisation commission to review the allowances of public office holders including governors and lawmakers with a view to reducing the cost of governance. Nigeria’s Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, made this known on Wednesday during a meeting with members of the National Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in Abuja, the country’s capital.

5. Shiites: IMN Lays Fresh Accusation Against Buhari Government

The Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) has claimed that the federal government has resorted to delayed tactics in the prosecution of its leader, Ibraheem Zakzaky, and members. Concise News understands that IMN said this in a statement on Wednesday, claiming that the federal government is frustrating its Femi Falana-led legal team.

6. Buhari Appoints New Aides For Wife

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of new set of aides for his wife Aisha. Concise News reports that the appointments were announced in a statement issued on Wednesday by the First Lady’s Director of Information, Suleiman Haruna. According to Haruna, the appointments are with immediate effect.

7. Border Closure: ‘Biafra Beckons,’ IPOB’s Nnamdi Kanu Declares

Leader of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has lashed out at Col. Hameed Ali (Rtd), the Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service, for announcing the total closure of the nation’s borders (excluding the North-East). Disclosing the absolute closure (which dared ECOWAS’ protocol) on Monday during a press briefing in Abuja, Col. Ali said the measure would enable security agencies to be able to scan goods entering into the country. Reacting to the development, the outspoken Kanu posited that the latest decision “underscores Nigeria’s institutional disrespect for Rule of Law.”

8. Buhari Inaugurates 2020 Armed Forces Emblem With N10m Donation

The 2020 Emblem Appeal Launch for the Armed Forces Remembrance Day celebration was on Wednesday inaugurated by President Muhammadu Buhari with a donation of N10 million on behalf of the Federal Government. The president made the donation shortly before the commencement of the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. Buhari encouraged all citizens to donate generously in support of veterans and dependents of the fallen heroes.

9. PDP Reacts To Buhari’s Request Of N10bn For Kogi

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned President Muhammadu Buhari’s request to get the Senate to approve N10 billion for Kogi State. Concise News reports that Buhari had written the Senate, seeking approval for the payment of N10.069billion as settlement of promissory note to the Kogi State Government led by Governor Yahaya Bello. In a statement signed by its spokesman, Kola Ologbondiyan, urged the National Assembly to channel the funds for payment of salaries and pensions of suffering Kogi state workers.

Big Brother Naija 2019 housemate Tacha has said that Biggie mentioned what sexually aroused her one week before she was disqualified from the reality TV show. Concise News monitored as Tacha, fondly called ‘Port Harcourt first daughter’ by her fans, made this known during an interview with Cool FM’s Dotun and Kemi Smallz on Wednesday. Tacha, who was disqualified nine days to the finale of the show for physically attacking fellow housemate, Mercy, said she was turned on by Biggie after Dotun, during the Midday Oasis show, asked if she (Tacha) was attracted to anybody in the house.
