A former Aviation Minister Femi Fani-Kayode has lamented the kidnap of a pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) John Egla in Nasarawa State.
Egla who is a pastor of RCCG in Lafia was abducted recently with the Nasarawa State Police command confirming it on Wednesday.
While reacting tot the development, Fani-Kayode called on the President Muhammadu Buhari government to work for the release of the clergyman.
“A Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) has been kidnapped by gunmen in Lafia, Nassarawa state,” the chieftain of the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said in a tweet on his handle.
“He was abducted at his residence in Shabu community on the outskirts of the state. I call on the FG to do all they can to rescue him at the soonest.”

In a related development, the Taraba state police have arrested a 22-year-old student of Modibbo Adama University of Technology (MAUTECH) identified as Abdulbasit Umar for staging his sister’s kidnap and demanding N10 million ransom from their father.
Concise News understands that Abdulbasit had aided the kidnap of his 10-year-old sister Amina Umar while on her way to school.
The suspect alongside two other accomplices, Sadiq Sani and Abdullahi Habib were said to
have demanded the sum of N10 million as ransom to free the young girl.
Spokesman of the state police command, DSP David Misal, who paraded the suspects alongside 12 others for kidnapping and armed robbery, explained that officers of the State Investigative Bureau arrested the trio enroute to collect a ransom of N4 million which they later settled for.
Speaking with newsmen, Abdulbasit noted it was his first time of doing that, adding that he needed the money to study abroad.
He said: “my aim was that after collecting the money, I will proceed with my education abroad.”
