Benue Governorship Tribunal: APC’s Jime Reacts To Judgement, Reveals Next Action
The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in the 2019 election in Benue state, Emmanuel Jime has said that he will appeal the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal judgement which upheld Governor Samuel Ortom’s election.
Jime, who was reacting to the judgement on Tuesday, told NAN in Makurdi that the tribunal was not fair to him and his party.
Justice Henry Olusiyi-led tribunal had, in a nine- hour judgment on Monday, dismissed Jime’s petition and upheld the election of Ortom.
The APC governorship candidate said that the tribunal, in its judgment, failed to give justice to “the suffering Benue masses. Read more here.
Benue: No Compromise On National Unity, Says Buhari
As some Benue bigwigs visit, President Muhammadu Buhari says he is fully committed to the unity of Nigeria, and will devote his time and energy to promoting it for the benefit of Nigerians.
The President made his feelings known during a visit to the State House by a delegation of Benue State Council of Traditional Rulers led by the Tor Tiv, Prof. James Ayatse, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Wednesday.
