US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that a battle with Democrats over his possible impeachment would likely go to the Supreme Court.
This is coming after the White House said it would not cooperate with the Democrats led-House on an ongoing probe.
In a letter sent to Democratic leaders, the White House rejected the inquiry as “baseless” and “constitutionally invalid”.
Three Democratic-led House committees are investigating President Trump.
The inquiry is trying to find out if the president held back aid to Ukraine to push it to investigate Joe Biden, who is running for the Democratic presidential nomination.
Trump has repeatedly sought to discredit an impeachment inquiry over his possible abuse of power in pressuring Ukraine to dig up dirt on political rival Joe Biden.
“It probably ends up being a big Supreme Court case,” Trump said, decrying how he and the Republican Party had been “treated very badly by the Democrats.”
