A former Nigerian footballer Henry Nwosu has expressed confidence that Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen will torment Brazil.
Nigeria will take on Brazil at the Singapore National friendly on October 13th in a friendly game.
Osimhen who played only one game for the West Africans at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) has struck seven times for French Ligue 1 side Lille in ten games.
He also scored for the Nigerians in the team’s 2-2 draw against Ukraine in an international friendly match in September.
And Nwosu believes that the former U-17 World Cup winner can replicate his fine form when the three-time African champions tackle Brazil in Singapore.
“I am proud that we have a quality striker in Victor Osimhen who has been banging in the goals for Lille in the French League,” Nwosu told Soccernet.ng
“Playing in his first season, Osimhen has shown his determination to achieve greatness and I am glad he’s in good form to face Brazil in Sunday’s international friendly encounter in Singapore.
“No doubt, he will cause all sorts of problems for the Brazilian defenders regardless of their experience.
“He has what it takes to shoot down the Brazilians and further put himself in the spotlight of the round leather game.”
Nigeria last met Brazil in 2003 at the M.K.O Abiola Stadium in Abuja during its official opening.
The match had ended 0-3 in favour of the South Americans who Nigeria had beaten in the semi-final of the 1996 Olympic football event for male.
