Some Nigerians on Twitter have recalled rapper Eedris Abdulkareem‘s music video “Mr Lecturer” where a tutor demands sex from a female student.
Concise News reports that this follows a documentary by the BBC at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) where a lecturer Boniface Igbeneghu was caught on camera allegedly demanding for sex for grades.
In the 13-minute secret filming, the lecturer with the Faculty of Arts revealed how his colleagues sleep with female students for sex.
In their reactions to this, some Twitter users remembered Abdulkareem’s “Mr Lecturer” released in 2002.
The video of “Mr Lecturer”was shot in an institution where a lecturer asks one of his female students identified as Bimbo Owoyemi to see him in his office where he demands sexual intimacy for her to excel in her examination.

The only thing that documentary is lacking is Eedris Abdulkareem’s “Mr Lecturer” as background music…cos we been knew about this from way back.

Eedris Abdulkareem put the #SexForGrade issue under the spotlight in Mr. Lecturer some 17 years ago
Same issue has become a virus in our institutions today

Eedris Abdulkareem had a good run. He made conscious music too. From Nigeria Jaga Jaga to Mr Lecturer to Come Back Home.
I hate how people ridicule him when we talk about Nigerian Hip Hop history.
Eedris had a beef with a sitting President & 50 Cent BEFORE social media blew up.

After Fela, I think Eedris Abdulkareem and African China are the only musicians that has hit the problems Nigerians are facing with their songs

Dr. Boniface just brought Eedris Abdulkareem back to mind.
My humble advice for Eedris Abdulkareem, go and feature Zlantan and Naira Marley.
Perfect timing for Mr. Lecturer Remix✌
Wisdom will not strangle me!!!#SexForGrades

Eedris Abdulkareem spoke about #SexForGrades in 2006. That's 13 years ago & I'm sure it's been happening long long long before he made this song. Still relevant to this day. pic.twitter.com/MosypVUigc
