Kogi: TUC Makes Appeal To Gov. Yahaya Bello Regarding Salaries

The Trade Union Congress (TUC) has appealed to the Kogi government to source for funds to pay its members their outstanding salaries and allowances.

Ranti Ojo, the Chairman of the state chapter of TUC, made the appeal in Lokoja on Thursday while speaking at the 4th Triennial Delegates’ Conference of the congress. Read more here.

Kogi: Yahaya Bello’s Govt Seals Off UBA HQ (See Why)

The Kogi State Internal Revenue Service (KSIRS) on Friday morning, sealed off the state headquarters of the United Bank for Africa (UBA) for tax default.

The service said that the premises will remain closed until full compliance.

The full implication of the debt profile was yet to be fully unveiled.

Kogi Gov’ship Election: PDP Finally Appoints Campaign DG

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State has selected Hon. Yusuf Ayo Tajudeen as the Director-General of the party’s campaign for the governorship election scheduled for November 16.

Tajudeen is a member of the House of Representatives representing Kabba/Bunu/Ijumu federal constituency.

Recall that Senator Dino Melaye and the state’s former governor, Ibrahim Idris, had both rejected the party’s offer that they should become the director-general of the PDP Kogi State Governorship Campaign Council. Read more here.

Kogi 2019: Lecturer Injured As APC, PDP Supporters Clash

A lecturer at the Kogi State University (KSU) Ayingba, Usman Ogbo, was reportedly injured in an attack in Ankpa on Saturday during the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Musa Wada’s ‘Thank You’ tour.

The opposition PDP had on Friday inaugurated its campaign committees in the capital, Lokoja, ahead of the November 16 governorship election.

It was learnt that Deputy Speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon. Ahmed Mohammed (APC- Ankpa 1) was in town and his convoy had cause to pass through the venue of PDP event, which may have sparked the skirmish. Read more here.
