Here’s Why Benue Govt Suspended Health Scheme Boss
The Benue Executive Council has approved the suspension of Dr Stanley Ugah, the State Programme Manager, Saving One Milion Lives, over alleged embezzlement of N900 million of the scheme’s funds, Concise News reports.
This was contained in a press statement issued Thursday by Terver Akase, Chief Press Secretary to the state governor in Makurdi.
Saving One Million Lives is a partnership health scheme run by the Federal and State governments to expand access to essential primary health care services for women and children. Read more here.
Benue: Ortom Queries Aide For Renaming Streets After Him
Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state has queried the General Manager of the state’s Urban Development Board, Apostle Saint Gbilekaa for renaming some streets in the state capital, Concise News reports.
This was contained in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary (CPS) Terver Akase in Makurdi on Thursday.
Ortom directed the board to immediately stop the renaming and dismantle name plates mounted on the affected streets.
The governor particularly directed it to reverse the renaming of Ahmadu Bello Way which was renamed after him.
He further directed the General Manager to explain within 24 hours why the agency embarked on the renaming of streets without approval. Read more here.
