Kogi Election: INEC Unveils List Of Candidates For Poll

As the Kogi State governorship election draws close, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the list of candidates for the exercise.

Concise News understands that INEC released the list of the candidates it cleared for the poll on Monday.

The election is billed to take place in Kogi State on November 16, 2019, across the state.

A peep into the list reveals that there are twenty-three (23) candidates/parties battling for the exalted seat.

There are twenty-one (21) are males with just one two female candidates; also the oldest contestant is 69 years (male) as the youngest is 35. Read more here.

Kogi Election: Audu Vows To Address Poverty, Corruption If Elected Governor

Former first lady of Kogi Mrs Aisha Audu has pledged to tackle poverty and corruption in Kogi, if elected Governor in the November 16  gubernatorial election.

Concise News reports that in a statement issued by her Media Office in Abuja on Wednesday, Audu said that with her experience in grassroots politics, she had what it “takes to set up a workable and result-oriented system.“

“I have the solution to the current economic and social malaise on my palms,” she said.

Audu, the flag bearer of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), said that the structure of the party across the local governments had deepened its root in past months.

The wife of late Prince Abubakar Audu said that the party had become a household name in Kogi, adding that the political structure of her late husband would be incorporated into the party to further drive the vision of the state.

Audu, who is one of the three female candidates of the 24 governorship contestants, said she had been working underground for the success of the party. Read more here.
