It was learned that the IMN leader had made a stopover in Dubai International Airport on Tuesday morning at about 4:00 am.

The IMN leader and his wife are expected to continue their journey to India and their expected arrival time in India is 2:30pm (local time).

Recall that El-Zakzaky left the country on Monday with security operatives aboard an Emirate Airline number EK2614.

El-Zakzaky and his wife, this news medium had earlier reported, arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, following the order of a Kaduna State High court which granted them leave to undergo treatment at an Indian hospital of their choice.

They got the approval to travel on the back of an application by El-Zakzaky’s counsel, Femi Falana (SAN), asking for them to be allowed to travel for treatment as a result of their deteriorating health condition.

Justice Darius Khobo granted the leave on August 5.

El-Zakzaky and his wife had been with the Department of State Services (DSS) since their arrest in December 2015.

The IMN leader was arrested following a clash between followers of his group and soldiers in the convoy of the Chief of Army State, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, in Zaria, Kaduna state, northwest Nigeria.

The soldiers, Concise News recalls, accused members of the group of blocking a major road being used by the army chief.

A Federal High Court had in 2016 ordered their unconditional release but the government refused to obey the order.

This infuriated members of the group as they, at several times, clashed with security operatives, majorly the police, in mostly Nigeria’s capital, Abuja, over the continuous detention of their leader.
