After eight months of marriage, American singer Miley Cyrus and her husband Liam Hemsworth have parted ways, PEOPLE reports.
A statement shared by a representative of the singer, reads: “Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time. Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers.”
“They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”
The duo met way back in 2009 on the set of their Nicholas Sparks romance movie The Last Song.
They confirmed their romance when they had a PDA-filled goodbye at the airport, shortly after filming.
Despite having many ups and downs in their relationship, the lovebirds quietly married after losing their home together in the California wildfires in November.
While the couple have not commented on their split on social media, Cyrus was spotted without her wedding ring in photos she posted from her vacation in Italy this week.
