‘A New Kogi State Is Possible’, Says Melaye In Sallah Message

Senator Dino Melaye (PDP-Kogi West) has said that through “steadfastness and resolution to make things right”, a new Kogi State is possible. Concise News reports that Melaye made this assertion in his Sallah message on Sunday. The outspoken politician said that the Eid-el-Kabir celebration is not only a time for merriment, but a time for sober reflections on happenings in the country including imbibing the right virtues. He added that Nigeria will overcome the challenges facing it soon. In a press statement personally signed by the lawmaker, he also urged the people of Kogi State to remain steadfast and resolute in their quest to have a New Kogi State, assuring that the collective aspiration of Kogites is achievable through the November 16, 2019 governorship election. “This year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration offers us another opportunity to reflect on the virtues of love, peace and tolerance without which our nation can be united. Kogi PDP Chairman Reacts To Abduction Of Okene Party Chieftain

The Kogi State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Sam Ohuotu, has lamented over the reported abduction of Musa Adelabu, the party chairman in Okene local government. He lamented that the invasion and abduction of the PDP member by men dressed in military uniform is worrisome, one too many and declared Kogi state is not safe to live in. According to him, gunmen dressed in military uniform invaded the house of the local government party chairman and whisked him away today, around 1.00am. He raised alarm that members of the PDP in the state, in the last week, have been consistently harassed by men dressed in security uniforms. He accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), who he said are scared of the popularity of the PDP, for the clampdown. Read more here.
