Benue Police Arrest Four Fake Naval Officers, Others

The Benue State Police Command Thursday nabbed four fake Navy Officers and 11 other suspects over alleged kidnapping, rape, armed robbery, child trafficking, and illegal arms manufacturing.

Concise News understands that the Commissioner of Police in the state, Mukaddas Garba, told newsmen in Makurdi that the fake Naval personnel are Stephen Oguniran, Daniel Igiho, Ada Ngbede, and Ada Ofugocho.

He said that they were arrested on July 31 at an illegal checkpoint at Okenyi, Okpoga Road, where the fake officers were extorting money from motorists. Read more here.

Benue: Ortom’s Govt Promises Assistance To Flood Victims

The Benue State Government last Friday said it was making arrangement to assist those affected by last Thursday’s flash flood in Makurdi, Concise News reports.

Emmanuel Shior, the Executive Secretary, Benue State Emergence Management Agency (SEMA), told NAN, in a telephone interview in Makurdi that government was on top of the situation.

Shior said that Gov. Samuel Ortom had already directed the agency to make adequate arrangement to assist all affected persons. Read more here.
