Manchester United have revived a last-minute move to sign Croatia forward Mario Mandzukic, Concise News report.
The Red Devils agreed on a £74million deal with Inter Milan to allow Romelu Lukaku to leave on Thursday night and they have until 5 pm today to find a replacement.
United’s interest in Mandzukic stems from their talks with Juventus over a potential swap deal involving Lukaku and Paulo Dybala.
That deal has since collapsed but United’s interest in Mandzukic remains and Gianluca Di Marzio claims the two clubs have held talks today to revive the deal.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants a back-up for Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial, who are expected to lead the line this term following Lukaku’s departure.
The Norwegian wanted a central midfielder and a forward at the start of the summer but United have failed in moves for Dybala, Christian Eriksen and Sean Longstaff.
