Nigerian singer, Azeez Fashola, better known as Naira Marley, has surpassed top Nigerian celebrities to make Instagram record in Africa.
Concise News understands that Naira Marley had record to be the first African to garner over 40,000 comments on a post in the social media platform.
In anticipation of the visual of his controversial song ‘soapy’ the singer, gave his fans a task of getting him 40,000 comments for him to drop the music video.
Sharing a footage, he wrote “40,000 comments and I will release (Soapy official video)
#Marlians take your time, don’t rush.”
Surprisingly, over 40,000 comments were gathered within 5 hours of posting.
Even the top celebrities in Nigeria are yet to make such record.
Naira Marley released the single with its dance routine on June 30, few days after spending 34 days in jail, over alleged cyber crime.
The soapy dance, which has gained traction on social media, has controversies surrounding it, with many criticizing it on the grounds that it encourages masturbation.
