Leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu on Wednesday allege that “terrorists and mass murderers that should be apprehended and prosecuted pray and dine with Fulani state security operatives”.

Concise News reports that the controversial political activist consequently demand that the government of Nigeria set free “unarmed citizens protesting against injustice” and are incarcerated without trial – in apparent reference to Omoyele Sowore, a human rights activist detained by the Department of State Service (DSS).

Kanu has been a vocal critic of the President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration, and he regularly tweets from overseas.

The Abia-born Biafra promoter has frequently accused President Buhari of ‘Fulanization’ and Islamization agendas.

Accompanied with a picture of some persons dressed in Northern attire relaxing in an open space, Kanu writes on his known Twitter handle:

“Sad irony of life in Nigeria. Terrorists & mass murderers that should be apprehended & prosecuted pray and dine with Fulani state security operatives, while unarmed citizens protesting against injustice are incarcerated without trial. Absolutely incredible!”

Sowore is spearheading the #RevolutionNow protests – a campaign the Nigerian government say could cause anarchy. The DSS has since seized Sowore amid calls for his release.
