The report claims that Arsenal have been offered £25m upfront with a further £5m in add-ons. But Everton’s bid has been rejected by Arsenal.

Meanwhile, the Gunners are stepping up their own efforts to land a new central defender with Juventus’ Daniele Rugani and RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano on their shortlist.

A £55m bid for Upamecano has been rejected, while the Gunners’ two-year loan offer for Rugani has been snubbed by Juventus.

Arsenal have now revised their offer for Rugani by shortening it to a one-season loan with a mandatory option to buy for €30m (£27.6m).
