Ace rapper, Folarin Falana better known as Falz, has said that the arrest of the Revolution Movement convener, Omoyele Sowore was not auspicious, therefore called for his immediate release.
In a post on his Instagram handle, Falz bemoaned the arrest, saying that organizing a protest march does not in anyway amount to treason.
The rapper and son of human rights activist, Femi Falana, Challenged the government to heed to the cry of the masses.
Falz wrote “What we are facing is a build up of the several years of neglect of the welfare of our people. Our government’s constant disregard of the loss of lives of many Nigerians.”
“The ridiculous rate of poverty and unemployment that afflicts us. This is not a time to arrest anyone but to listen to the voices of the masses. Organizing a protest march does not in anyway amount to treason. #FreeSowore Immediately!” he added.
Recall that Nigerians woke up on Saturday August 3, to the news of the arrest of Sowore who was picked up at his apartment by the DSS
His arrest was linked to the planned protests against what Sowore describe as ‘bad governance in Nigeria’ that was scheduled for August 5, 2019.
