The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu has taken to his Twitter pages to condemn the arrest of Omoyele Sowore by the Department of State Services (DSS) operatives. Concise News had reported that Sowore, one of the leaders of the #RevolutionNow campaign, was picked up at his apartment in the early hours of Saturday. The human rights activist posted a distress tweet at exactly 1:25 am with an eyewitness confirming that his phone was forcefully taken from him. Nnamdi Kanu while reacting to the incident said, “Fulani tyranny & primitive dictatorship will never win this war against the massed ranks of oppressed people in Nigeria. “Suppressing the right to protest in a so-called democracy will only hasten the collapse of that ZOO. #FreeSowore & allow the #RevolutionNow right to protest.” he added. The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, while reacting to the murder of the Catholic Priest said the people of Enugu must hold Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Dave Umahi, Nnia Nwodo among others responsible for the preventable deaths in the land. Concise News had reports that Rev. FR Paul Offu who was in charge of St. James, the Greater Parish, Ugbawka was reportedly shot dead by suspected Fulani herdsmen on Thursday evening in Enugu State. While reacting to the incident, Kanu said such death would have been prevented if South-East governors had allowed the establishment of Biafra Secret Services (BSS) in the region. Kanu, consequently, condemned the killing and charged the people of the region to hold South-East governors responsible for such death. Read more here.
The Biafra Nations Youth League (BNYL) has denied being in alliance with the #RevolutionNow protest led by the presidential candidate of African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore. Concise News had reported that Security agents, on Monday, chased members of the #RevolutionNow movement out of the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos State ahead of the protest. DSS had arrested Sowore over the weekend after he called for the protest against bad governance. However, BNYL, in a statement issued by the Deputy Leader and Head of Operations, Biafra Broadcasting Service (BBS), Ebuta Ogar Takon, dissociated its members from the #RevolutionNow protest.
