A video showing how operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) arrested the Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) in the 2019 election, Omoyele Sowore surfaced on Monday.
The video was shared by SaharaReporters, a media organisation owned by Sowore.
Sowore was arrested in the early hours of Saturday over what is believed to be in connection with the nationwide protests he was championing against the Nigerian government.
The AAC Presidential candidate had called for a mass protest tagged: “Revolution Now”, beginning from the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, on Monday.
Concise News reported that the RevolutionNow movement, however, went ahead with the protest on Monday in Sowore’s absence, clashing with security operatives in the process.
