Nigerian singer, Augustine Kelechi better known as Tekno has addressed the misconception of him dancing publicly with van strippers in Lekki Lagos.
Concise News understands that Tekno was seen in a viral video dancing with unclad ladies in a transparent truck, while spraying them money in Lekki.
The act is said to be in contravention of Section 136 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015 which provides that any person who commits any act of gross indecency with another person in public commits an offence and liable to a conviction to three years imprisonment.
Addressing speculations on the footage, the singer who just recovered from Vocal chord ailment, in a statement gave account of the incident, while apologizing for his actions.
The statement reads in part “First of all, there was no reason fr us to be dancing in a truck around Lekki. There was no music, no ventilation in the truck.”
“We were shooting a music video and we had shortage of vehicles to convey people to the next location because some the cars broke down in between the shoot, which we divided ourselves into various vehicles because we had been shooting all day and having fun which we then moved to the next location.”
“However, this was about 12 am at mid-night already. This was no form of advert for a strip club ot dancing naked on the street for any type of reason.”
“We sincerely apologise if some people saw this or felt offended by the scenery they saw. it was never intent”
