Prof. Noel Wanang, the Returning Officer for the poll, declared Sanda winner of the exercise on Saturday in Jengre, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau.

President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed shock and dismay over the killing of Rev Fr. Paul Offu in Enugu State and ordered a thorough manhunt for the killers and their immediate prosecution. The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has been restrained by the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt from issuing a fresh proclamation letter, as directed by the Nigerian Senate. The court also restrained the Clerk of the National Assembly, the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, their servants, agents, officers or privies from interfering or taking over the legislative functions of the Edo State House of Assembly.

Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has condemned the killing of Rev. Paul Offu of the Catholic Diocese of Enugu by unknown gunmen along Ihe-Agbudu Road in Awgu Local Government Area of the state.
