Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp is happy with his team despite losing the 2019 Community Shield to Manchester City, Sunday.
The game ended 1-1 in normal time with City winning 5-4 via a penalty shootout at the Wembley Stadium.
Klopp’s charges surrendered the Premier League to City last season with just one point despite losing only a game in the entire campaign.
Speaking after the clash, the German, however, expressed satisfaction with his boys.
“Absolutely. I’m completely happy about the full performance,” he said.
“I said before the game, if you want to be prepared for Man City you have to make a pre-season game against Man City; no team plays like them.
“You saw that in a few moments in the first half, when they can do what they do. We struggled a little bit positioning-wise but that’s normal.”
He added: “I liked the game a lot. I don’t like the result but I liked the game a lot, so for us it was very, very important.”
