President Buhari Laments Loss Of Taraba Monarch, Bayonga

President Muhammadu Buhari has commiserated with the Bayonga family, government and people of Taraba State over the exit of His Royal Highness, Danjuma Bayonga. Concise News reports that the President, in a statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, in Abuja on Thursday, lamented that Nigeria had lost “an advocate of peace”. He described the late 81-year-old first class traditional ruler and retired policeman as a person devoted to the improvement of the welfare of people in his domain. The president further observed that the late traditional ruler was committed not only to the peace, unity and development of his domain and State, but also the entire country. Read more here.

Tiv Vs Jukun Crisis: Middle Belt Group Writes TY Danjuma Over killings In Benue, Taraba

The Middle Belt Reformers Movement (MBRM) has written the former Chief of Army Staff, General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma (rtd), over the incessant killings by some persons believed to be Jukun militias in Taraba and Benue States. The middle belt group said there is an obvious agenda by Jukun ethnic group to wipe others from the face of the earth, especially Benue natives. Concise News gathered that the warning came barely three days after three Benue students and a staff of the Federal University, Wukari was killed by some suspected Jukun militias, thus, leading to the closure of the institution by the management. Taraba: Illegal Loggers Murder 9 Gashaka National Park Workers

The Conservator of the Gashaka Gumti National Park in Taraba, Alhaji Mohammed Kabir, says illegal loggers have killed not less than nine Rangers, living several others injured in the last few years, Concise News reports. Kabir spoke on Wednesday at an event to mark the 2019 World Rangers Day celebration at Serti, headquarters of Gashaka Local Government Area of the state. He gave the names of the deceased as Usman Yahya, Joshua Mamman, Adamu Hamman, Ajayi Peter and Hamman Njidda. According to him, others are Hamman Dikko, Zamani Teituly, Sunday Ali and Yakubu Umaru.
