Arsenal new signing Nicolas Pepe has said the thought of playing with Mesuit Ozil made him look forward to joining the Gunners.
Concise News understands that Arsenal shelled out a club-record fee of €80m (£72m) plus add-ons to lure the Ivory Coast winger away from Lille on a five-year contract.
He bagged scored 22 goals in the French league last term and prefers to play on the right side of a front three line up.
When asked some of the players he looked forward to playing with, Pepe, 24, mentioned Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexander Lacazette, also.
He said the thought of playing alongside the “French guys” made him look forward to joining the Gunners.
“The French guys who play here,” he said.
“Then I also thought of Özil, the world champions, Lacazette, Aubameyang and many more.
“Of course, these are the players who sprang to mind because I used to watch them when I was at Lille.
“Also, Lacazette used to play for Lyon and so I have had the opportunity to play against him and it will be an honour to play alongside him.”
