Super Eagles star Kelechi Iheanacho has expressed happiness with his present goal scoring form for his club Leicester City.
The Nigeria international had been in a long goal-drought spanning 11 months but bagged a brace as the Foxes were forced to a 2-2 draw by League One outfit Rotherham United in a pre-season game at the New York Stadium, Saturday.
He also netted a goal in the club’s 3-0 win over Cambridge United last Tuesday.
Speaking over the weekend, the former Manchester City man expressed optimism that he would take the same form into the coming campaign.
“I am delighted, I am happy getting two goals. Hopefully, I can take that into the season. I think it’s important for my confidence,” he said.
“It has been a long time coming but I am happy again. I think I can take it fully into the season.
“We have a big squad, so many players who are good footballers. Everyone is competing and fighting for a place.”
