Nigerians have taken to Twitter to react after President Muhammadu Buhari said he was not grooming any successor when his current tenure expires in 2023.
He said this on Tuesday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where he received the members of the Progressive in Academics (Pro-Acad).
But Nigerians, while reacting, encouraged Buhari not to worry about grooming anybody, lamenting over his style of leadership.
Pls no need… ur era and kind of leadership shd simply end with you even if You were still d preferred by me. A new era shd begin diffrntly

I honestly don't take anything he says seriously because it possible he doesn't even know he said it.

Why I won’t name my successor – Buhari.
In their meetings, Pro-Acad asked him to start grooming a youth who will replace him when his second term tenure expires in 2023. 🤣
Successor ko, Youth ni. May we not get another successor from a man like this? O to ge! #Nigeria

"Succession? To me, this is very funny. If I find anybody, I will create more problems for him or her. Let those who want to be president try as much as I did,"
Nobody should expect Baba to go all out for him in 2023. Highest na picture u gethttps://t.co/bX4TstlaCC
