Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo has hailed the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for a good organisation of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt, Concise News understands.
The Leganes man bagged one goal as the Nigerians clinched a bronze medal at the competition.
According to the CD Leganes man, moving the tournament from winter to summer is a welcome development for football in the continent.
He said the expansion of the AFCON as well as the improvement in infrastructure, technical and tactical abilities, elevated the competition.
“Changing the period from January – February to June – July was A brilliant idea because most of the players lost their places in their clubs when it was played in January,” he told Brila FM.
“When the AFCON was played in winter, many players were not fully focused because of their club duties. Having it in the summer is much better and I salute CAF for this decision”.
