A former Power, Works and Housing Minister Babatunde Fashola has said 750 containers of electricity equipment was recovered in his first stint in charge.
Fashola said this on Monday at the National Assembly during the 2019 Ministerial Screening.
The former Lagos State leader is among the 43 person submitted to the National Assembly by President Muhammadu Buhari as ministers.
While speaking at his screening, Fashola said that the equipment was recovered at the port during his first four years as a Minister.
Accoording to him, “During my first term as minister of power, we recovered 720 containers of electricity equipment abandoned at ports”
“In our closing report, there was no state that were not executing a federal project.
“We also had roads that decongested and led to ports.”
He added that “Since privatisation occurred, the ministry of power ceased to be a major player in the sector. We only deal with regulatory issues now.”
