Real Madrid defender Javi Sanchez has sealed a season-long loan move to Real Valladolid.

Concise News reports that the 23-year-old climbed up all the academy ranks until he reached the senior team, where he played in one La Liga game, another three in the Champions League and two more in the Copa del Rey, though he has largely featured for the Castilla side.

Sanchez has played 70 games for Castilla in the last four seasons, scoring eight goals.

The young centre-back will be officially presented by his new club on Tuesday at the Estadio Jose Zorrilla.

A quick, versatile, tall and strong defender who chooses the right moment to attack, Sánchez is an ambidextrous player with excellent positioning.

A leader on the pitch, he is also technically gifted.

He is a player with character who makes his presence felt on the pitch despite not standing out physically.

He is two-footed, plays the ball out of defence and is a good defender as he closes the spaces.
