Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers says Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi will be available for selection when the former Premier League champions face Wolverhampton Wanderers on 11 August in their league opener at the King Power Stadium.
Concise News understands that the Super Eagles midfielder, on holiday after featuring at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, has been excused from Leicester’s pre-season training so far.
But Rodgers appears to be eager to have the player back in time for the new Premier League season after the midfielder missed Leicester‘s 2-2 draw with Rotherham United on Saturday.
“He [Ndidi] will be back towards the Atalanta game. He won’t be involved in that, but he will be training for a few days before that,” Rodgers was quoted by Leicestershire Live.
“He will be available for the first game.”
