Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola, has hinted that it is not late to go for Leicester city defender Harry Maguire, Concise News understands.

According to the UK Mirror, the Premier League champions have been linked with Maguire following the recent departure of Vincent Kompany to Anderlecht.

Manchester City having John Stones, Nicolas Otamendi and Aymeric Laporte, as alternatives including the present of Eliaquim Mangala to the available men at the Etihad, though, it is not certain that he may remain at the club before the end of the window.

On the other hand, Manchester United have also shown interest in Maguire, while the Leicester manager, Brendan Rodgers, confirmed two bids from undisclosed clubs which offers had been rejected.

Guardiola disclosed that he can go on with his side without signing any new central defense this summer.

“If we believe we can, if not we will survive without a new central defender,” the City boss told reporters on their pre-season tour.

Asked if he expects more signing to arrive, Guardiola replied: “No, not many. I like the faces that we have.

“Maybe but the transfer market is so difficult and the team is good enough. Maybe zero, maybe one, maybe one and a half.”

City won their last pre-season campaign with a 3-1 victory over Yokohama.
