Cameroon legend Samuel Eto’o, has revealed that Real Madrid’s signing Eden Hazard gives him an edge to beat Barcelona star Lionel Messi in winning the next Ballon D’Or prize.
Concise News understands that Hazard sealed a deal of £88million to join Santiago Bernabeu from Chelsea earlier this summer.
The Belgian International before he moved to Spain, helped Chelsea ended third in the Premier League table last season netting 16 goals and 15 assists, while Messi scored 36 goals and 13 assists for Ernesto Valverde’s side in the Spanish top-flight.
Meanwhile, as the Argentine star eyes his sixth Ballon d’Or prize, Eto’o is confident about Hazard’s possibility of winning the coveted individual award now that he played for Real.
Eto’o told Radio Marca: “Hazard has to win the Ballon d’Or.
“He hasn’t been valued enough but now he’s at one of the best teams in the world and all eyes will be on him.
“He’s close to Messi’s level and I hope that he plays Barcelona when he’s not at 100 per cent.”
