Unemployment: Apostle Johnson Suleman Tells Govt. What To Do

The founder of the Omega Fire Ministries (OFM) Apostle Johnson Suleman has urged government to give soft loans to graduates to ease unemployment.

This news medium reports that Apostle Suleman who lamented the unemployment rate in  Nigeria, expressed regrets that only the “connected” get white collar jobs.

According to him, many graduates who are qualified do not get white collar jobs, advising them to embrace entreprenuership as the way out.

“Whenever I see fresh graduates in their teeming thousands,am bemused,marooned and bewildered..where are the jobs?..government should give soft loans..let people be self employed..nigeria white collar jobs are for the connected not the qualified..sad!” he tweeted.

The country’s unemployment rate is 23.1 percent as at December 2018, up from the last rate of 18.8 percent released by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) in the third quarter of 2017.

According to the latest figure released by the NBS, part-time employment/underemployment stood at 20.1 percent in the third quarter of 2018 from 21.2 percent in the third quarter of 2017

The number of people who were employed in the country rose from 17.6 million in the fourth quarter of 2017 to 20.9 million in the third quarter of 2018.
