Nigerian afro-fusion singer, Damini Ogulu popularly known as Burna boy who has in recent times been garnering attention from the showbiz industry has said Nigerians now love him because the world recognizes him.
Concise news understands that Burna boy disclosed this in an interview with Billboard.
He said “Nigerians love me a lot more now because they can see that the whole world likes me, too. They think I’m something special, but I’m not. I’m just a human whose skill is making music. Way I see it, everyone plays their own role in the world, and no role is more important than the other.”
Today, Burna boy released his album titled ‘African Giant’ featuring Damian Marley, son of late reggae star, Bob Marley and a host of other international stars.
On becoming one of the richest Nigerian artists, he said, “You are only as rich as where you come from, and Nigeria has a lot of poverty.”
His modern style delivery of Afrobeat music was pioneered by legendary Nigerian singer, Fela Kuti.
