While many are of the opinion that celebrity marriages do not last, Veteran thespian, Joke Silva, has revealed that her marriage to Olu Jacobs still blooms because they create separation between work and home.
Concise news gathered that the Silva who is married to her colleague in the Nigerian movie industry, made the revelation during a chat with Punch.
The 57-year-old said “Of course, there has to be a separation (between work and home). We don’t mix business with pleasure. There is a difference between our lives in movies and our lives at home. Work is fiction even though we try to pass real messages across.”
“At home, we are faced with real life issues such as diesel in the generator, home helps, doctor’s appointments and other things,” she said.
Just last week, Joke Silva wrote heartwarming message to Olu Jacobs on his 77th birthday.
The couple got since 1989 and are blessed with children.
They founded and operate the Lufodo Group, a media corporation that consists of film production, distribution assets and the Lufodo Academy of Performing Arts.
Asked why his wife still bears her maiden name, Jacobs answered: “She is her own individual. When I met her, she was an actress known as Joke Silva so why should marrying me now deny her and her audience her name. She is Miss Joke Silva who is Mrs. Joke Jacobs. It is as simple as that. People now begin to say what they like. They have even written that we are separated and all sort of stuff. When she is working, she is Joke Silva but she is Mrs. Joke Jacobs at home.”
